Pack for a Weekend Getaway

WE'RE DREAMING OF ALLURING WEEKENDS AWAY, FULL OF VIBRATING CITIES AND LONG DAYS OF EXPLORING. IF YOU CAN'T TRAVEL FAR AT THE MOMENT, WHY NOT TAKE A LOOK AT DESTINATIONS CLOSE TO HOME AND EXPLORE YOUR OWN CITY AND SURROUNDINGS? PACKING FOR A WEEKEND GETAWAY CAN BE TRICKY... SPACE IS OFTEN LIMITED AND IT'S EASY TO OVERPACK. KEEP SCROLLING FOR OUR BEST WEEKEND PACKING TIPS.

1. USE PACKING CUBES

Packing cubes help you maximize suitcase space while preventing unwanted wrinkles. Below, we have gathered our best space-saving tips:

1. Fit your clothes into a maximum of 3 cubes: Limit yourself to only using one cube for underwear and 1-2 cubes for clothes. You don’t need more for a weekend away.

2. Mix and Match outfits: Bring bottoms that can be used both day and night, and that can be used with different tops. Also, only bring one sweater that goes with all your outfits, etc.

3. Wear your heaviest clothes while traveling: If weight or space is an issue, wear those heavy boots and that fluffy sweater on the plane.

2. GIVE EACH ITEM ITS OWN BAG OR CASE

Separate all your items into different organizers, bags, and cases so that you can easily find what you’re looking for without having to turn your bag inside out. Organizing your suitcase will also maximize space in addition to making unpacking and packing a joyful bliss - both at the hotel and when you’re back at home.

Personally, we love the BA Traveler sets as they are both stylish and functional! Get them in black or blush, and in sets of 8 or 4.

3. MAXIMIZE YOUR SUITCASE SPACE

The small gaps that run along your suitcase are actually perfect for storing soft items like your stockings, tights, pajamas, and yoga pants. Roll them up and tuck them into the gaps for maximized storage.

Can’t close your bag because of all your sweaters on top? Expand it by unzipping the expansion zipper (that other zipper that doesn’t unlock the bag). But now it won’t fit in the carry-on compartment you think? Well, when your bag is shut, close the expansion zipper again, and voila! Your bag is closed and back to carry-on size.
