June bring it!
Can someone please explain to me what is up with the month of June?! There is just so much going on! For the past several days, or in fact since the first day of June my mailbox has exploded. Every five minutes there is a new e-mail with an order, someone wanting to ask about a sample, shipments, fairs, surveys, school picnics, birthdays, you name it…
Not that I am complaining – it is merely a reflection.
Perhaps the Universe is figuring – let’s make the people on Earth work really hard before they get a break!
This summer I am actually planning on taking real time off. Last summer I was stressed out of my mind as I was doing my first trade show ever and introducing my brand Bag-all to the World. The whole summer I was agonising over what my booth should look like. Would I get my bags on time. Yes – I had signed up for the show before I actually had the bags. Whoopsie…
The thoughts raced trough my head, would anyone want to buy a single bag. I was totally unsure. I mean if you decide to make t-shirts or socks or stationary or whatever you know people use those things, but I sure had no idea if anyone would understand the concept of reusable Gift Bags. I had also ordered a small range of Travel Bags as I thought at least this is something people will understand: A bag with a print of a shoe is a Shoe Bag. Anyone gets it.
There is one word to sum up how I was feeling: scared!
So, last summer I wasn’t only agonising I was also literally on my hands and knees painting the walls for my booth. I had decided to use the walls of my friends barn Upstate New York. My mom was kind enough to help me with the letters that needed to be painted.
My hubby, Micke, of course helped all he could and cheered me on.
We then had to go back to New York in the middle of August to set up the booth and do the show.
My first Travel Bag collection!
Much to my amazement people actually did write orders. Here I am putting the first order into my iPad! What a huge sigh of relief that was!
We did have some beautiful days last summer as well! Like a few of these picnics in the fields.
But as I constantly had my business in the back of my mind I didn’t really relax.
So – June – bring it! But come July this bird is going to be chilling!
