The Chinese philosopher Confucius who lived in 500 BC said: Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.
What a clever guy! Well over 2000 years ago he had understood one of the most important things in life: The joy of doing what you love. If do what you are passionate about it comes to you with ease.
I can’t actually really call what I do with Bag-all work, as it is too much fun to be described by the word work. I do spend many, many hours each day attending to Bag-all and it is what I make a living off, which is what you normally would define as work. But the word work kind of has a negative sound to it, like something you have to struggle a little bit to get done. To me Bag-all is pure pleasure! Of course a lot of things go wrong and there are constantly new challenges to be met, but it doesn’t matter as it is part of something that gives me great joy. Almost like when you have a baby. Although the baby cries and fusses, it is pure love.
With all that being said everything we do becomes part of the business. Like taking a Sunday walk in Central Park becomes an opportunity to take a picture of my new tote bag.
Just a gorgeous day and it made it even better for me as I managed to squeeze in some, hmmm have no better word for it: work.
A few weeks ago we welcomed famous Chinese actress, Bea Hayden and Modern Fashion Lifestyle Channel to the Bag-all store on Mott Street.
Bea was documenting one of her days in New York and ended up finding some favorite bags, which she aslo monogrammed with her name.
They filmed their visit and if you speak Chinese, you can watch the full video here.
Thank you for visiting Bea, you are welcome back any time!
