So on Monday Micke and arrived in Atlanta for the famous Gift show at Atlantas Mart. Blue skies, but very cold! I had been hoping for warm weather considering how far south Atlanta is located (same latitude as north Africa).
Americas Mart is a gigantic marketplace. It is housed in three high rise buildings. We where placed in building 3. The architecture of this building is amazing! It has a huge atrium with the floors on balconies. Unfortunately we got a rather crappy placement in the very back on the fifth floor.
Looks somewhat like a spaceship!I have never done a show outside of New York before. Doing a show in the city you live in is a piece of cake compared to the logistics of getting all your products and furniture for the booth to the show. In New York we have literally taken the furniture from our house to the show, which obviously wasn’t an option here.
All the bags fit into our two suitcases which was great! (Very happy I don’t sell big and breakable stuff!)
Mission number one when we got to Atlanta was to figure out where to find furniture. We looked in our favourite stores: West Elm (www.westelm.com) and Anthropologie (www.anthropologie.com) but it was all too pricy considering I will have to leave all the furniture here once done. Or rather I will donate all the furniture to charity at the end of the show.
However, I did find furniture I want for my store on Mott Street at Anthropologie. This display until would have been perfect for us, except it won’t fit in the store.
Luckily this three tier table does fit in the store on Mott Street, so I bought it and will have it shipped to NY. (I just love how Anthorpologie sells their own display furniture!)
To our rescue for the show was Ikea (as usual) with affordable and stylish furniture. I have had my eye on a great black and white rug from Ikea for the longest time. Finally I found use for it.
Laying out the bags on the floor to figure out where they should go.
Have a great weekend people! I know what I will be doing – working at the show!
A few weeks ago we welcomed famous Chinese actress, Bea Hayden and Modern Fashion Lifestyle Channel to the Bag-all store on Mott Street.
Bea was documenting one of her days in New York and ended up finding some favorite bags, which she aslo monogrammed with her name.
They filmed their visit and if you speak Chinese, you can watch the full video here.
Thank you for visiting Bea, you are welcome back any time!
Finally! Its time to start packing away your gloves and beanies and start unpacking your caps and t-shirts.
Protect your leather gloves from dust, scratches and excess moisture by storing them in our new Gloves organizing bag.
To all our Japanese followers, here is an interview with founder and owner Jennifer that was made by Ships Magazine during her trip to Japan. Ships sells a selected range of Bag-alls items in stores around the country.
