Guys, today I have to give a tip about something important: The Daily Love! It’s a newsletter you can subscribe to for daily and weekly advice on how to relate to things in life based on “love” as the name suggests. A few years ago a guy named Mastin Kipp launched the page www.thedailylove.com, it now has four million subscribers. The phenomenon is described as a multivitamin for your soul!
And why should we not treat our soul a little care! Sign up here! The Daily Love
The strange thing about newsletters like these is that it usually relates to something you are going through at the moment. Yesterday I wrote about how I’m giving excuse after excuse to avoid going to the gym…and here is how today’s newsletter started: ”Start before you are ready.” -Steven Pressfield
”The sectert of getting ahead is getting started.” -Mark Twain
”The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing.” -Walt Disney Alright, that’s enough. I’ll go to the gym.
(Maybe Mastin Kipp has a camera in my house – or maybe there are more people than myself who also want to give themselves a new start for the new year…)
Anyhow, these emails have been very good for me. When I started my business I found it scary to leave behind my job as a stylist to put my energy into Bag-All. There weren’t any guarantees for how everything would turn out, and I remember how terrified I was. However, on the days I felt extra tense there usually came an email from The Daily Love about the point of trying something new or how we are supposed to follow our gut feeling – things that spoke right to my soul and pinpointed the situation I was going through. And it gave me the motivation to keep going.
Now when I’ve gotten a successful start to the business, I read the newsletter with fresh eyes, and find things that apply to totally different things going on in my life.
I also love to give and receive advice! Like when I blogged about all the single socks I found in my house, and many advised on how I can reuse the socks. I can for example use them to clean with or make it into a sport by using as many odd socks as I can. I love that advice so much, I almost got a little upset that I didn’t think of it myself!
I’ve noticed that many people get offended when they are given tips or advice. They think/believe that they advice beholds some kind of hidden criticisms, but I have to say, some of the smartest things I have done in my life has been influenced by advice I’ve received from others. So I’m just putting this out there on the blog, feel free to give any advice as your comments and we can spread some smart things together.
“Good advice isn’t expensive – it’s free! Not because they are useless, but because they are over-worthy!” –Jennifer Jansch (I also love quotes hehe)
So this morning I did go to the gym. I was so weak and in a bad shape I don’t even want to get into it more. But anyways:
We recently had a customer who bought our Dip Dye Tote at our Bag-all location on Mott street, NYC. Her puppy Row loved the bag as much as she did. This is the perfect bag for summer, great for both city and the beach. Happy Master equals Happy Pupp!
